NEMA Motors
NEMA motors refer to motors manufactured according to the standards of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). Common small to medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motors used in North America generally need to meet the following conditions:
- The NEMA standard has different mounting dimensions than the IEC (GB) standard and uses inches as the unit of measurement.
- Efficiency meets Premium standards, equivalent to IE3 energy efficiency (GB2 level).
- It has US Department of Energy (DOE) energy efficiency certification, indicated on the motor nameplate as “ee CC____”. TECO motor code is “ee CC002A”. ee: energy efficiency.
- It complies with UL or CSA safety certifications.
Items 2-4 above are mandatory requirements.
Teco Electric, as a major motor supplier in North America, can provide users with electric motor products that fully comply with North American market standards.
Teco's NEMA standard motor manufacturing plants are: TECO-Westinghouse, Texas, USA, and Wuxi Teco Electric Co., Ltd.
