NEMA Motors

NEMA motors refer to motors manufactured according to the standards of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). Common small to medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motors used in North America generally need to meet the following conditions:

  1. The NEMA standard has different mounting dimensions than the IEC (GB) standard and uses inches as the unit of measurement.
  2. Efficiency meets Premium standards, equivalent to IE3 energy efficiency (GB2 level).
  3. It has US Department of Energy (DOE) energy efficiency certification, indicated on the motor nameplate as “ee CC____”. TECO motor code is “ee CC002A”. ee: energy efficiency.
  4. It complies with UL or CSA safety certifications.
Items 2-4 above are mandatory requirements.
Teco Electric, as a major motor supplier in North America, can provide users with electric motor products that fully comply with North American market standards.
Teco's NEMA standard motor manufacturing plants are: TECO-Westinghouse, Texas, USA, and Wuxi Teco Electric Co., Ltd.
